Artist-in-Residence programme

The District of Upper Bavaria set up a scholarship for contemporary artists in 2005 with the aim to promote European ideals and enrich the region’s cultural life. The European House of Art Upper Bavaria usually organises two exchange blocks with European countries every year.

The base of the artists' exchange is a partner institution, who would host three German (Upper Bavarian) artists and choose three artists to stay in Freising in one or six artists from each country in two periods. The length of the stay and the number of artists can be changed by agreement.

Unfortunately in the moment  there is no possibility to apply individually for a residency. But we are happy about any contact with a potential partner organisation in any European country - and in case anywhere else!
